Mechanical Tour - Ticketed Event
David Davis Mansion Mechanical Tour
Sunday, January 21, 2018 -- Ticketed Event -- Tours at 1:00pm & 3:00pm
Have you ever wondered how on earth people lived in houses without today's conveniences that we take for granted ???
Here's your chance to take a look behind the scenes at the mechanicals that made the 1870s Victorian David Davis Mansion one of the most comfortable, up-to-date homes on the prairie.
* How was the David Davis Mansion lit? * What was the source? * How did it work?
* Did the water come from a well? * Or, did the city have water available in 1872?
* How did they heat the house? * How was the boiler fired?
* What is in the attic?
These questions and more will be answered on Sunday, January 21th, during this special David Davis Mansion Mechanical Tour. Two tour times are available, 1:00pm and 3:00pm, and each one is limited to 20 people. Tickets are $15 each. Come join us for a little fun and a lot of historical mechanical information!
Tickets are available only at the David Davis Mansion Visitors Center, open 9am-4pm Wednesdays-Saturdays. Or call 309-828-1084 during these hours only, to reserve your tickets or if you have questions. DEADLINE FOR TICKETS is 4pm, Thursday, January 18th. We'll be navigating narrow stairways both up and down. Please wear flat walking shoes for the tour.
