CyclingForKids Stop the Cycle of Abuse Bike Ride, 7am-8:00pm, Fri-Sun., Sep. 20th-22nd
Bloomington's historic David Davis Mansion is proud to host the Cyclingforkids, Inc. annual Stop the Cycle of Abuse bike ride on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 20th, 21st, and 22nd. Stop the Cycle of Abuse is a non-competitive cycling tour and camping event, headquartered this year at the Mansion, 1000 Monroe Drive, Bloomington, IL.
The bike tour consists of three 60-mile loops throughout beautiful McLean county. Participants can choose to ride 1, 2, or all 3 days. Registration check-in will begin at 7:00am each day at the Mansion and each day's ride will begin as a group at 8:30am. The ride is fully supported with SAG, marked routes, and meals each day. During the Saturday evening meal at the Mansion there will be live music from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
This is a charity ride and there is a fundraising requirement for each rider. For event requirements and to register, go online to Cyclingforkids.net.
Beneficiaries of the event's proceeds this year include Children’s Home & Aid, McLean County Child Protection Network in partnership with McLean County CAC and CASA, and McHenry County CASA. In McLean County, 281 children are in foster care and 91 of them are being served by a court-appointment special advocate.
Cyclingforkids, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not for profit charity organization. Since 2012, through community cycling events, the group has raised over $150,000 for local and state-wide organizations. The organization's guiding principle is "We just want to ride and help a kid along the way. Refuse to do nothing!"
